Mana Wahine Ekolu

Kapolei, Oahu - Over 100 people gathered for the Mana Wahine Ekolu Conference at the Aulani, from November 28 to 30, 2022!

Mauna Loa erupted - see Pele dancing - 11/28/22 - kicking off the Mana Wahine Ekolu Conference.

Conference highlights included:

Day 1 - 11/28/22 - Starting off with much mana - Mauna Loa erupted! See Pele dancing above. Nā Mana Wahine, former Gov. Linda Lingle shared about the Women’s Prison Project, and provided words of inspiration at the lunch hour. Kekuhi Kealiikanakaoleohaililani, as our plenary speaker shared about “Transforming from Trauma Making Cultural Connections.”

Day 2 - 11/29/222 - Peer Support champions shared their stories in 2 presentations, followed by Dr. Caroline Sakai, as the keynote speaker providing an experiential tapping presentation. In the afternoon we offered four workshops: mo'ʻokuauhau, laʻau lapaʻau, vision board & rapping, and the story telling / art experience.

Day 3 - 11/30/22 - The last day of the conference included more workshops - hula/oli, laʻau lapaʻau, vision board & rapping, and the story telling / art experience. A recap, and call to action was what we ended with.
